Sabathia, Indians rout Twins

Baseball Betting Lines

05/17/2007 - Cleveland, OH (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - C.C. Sabathia threw eight strong innings, retiring the final 12 batters he faced, and Trot Nixon drove in three runs to pace Cleveland to a 7-1 victory over the Minnesota Twins in the middle contest of a three-game series.

Travis Hafner knocked in two runs and Casey Blake went 3-for-5 with an RBI and crossed the plate twice for the Indians, who have won all four meetings with the Twins this season, outscoring them, 34-14. Grady Sizemore had a pair of hits and scored three times.

Sabathia (6-1) rebounded from his only loss of the season last Friday at Oakland, as the powerful left-hander allowed five hits and a run, while walking one and striking out five. He threw 71 of his 103 pitches for strikes, as the Indians won their sixth straight home game.

Tom Mastny gave up two hits in the ninth inning, but closed the game by striking out pinch-hitters Garrett Jones and Jason Kubel to leave runners on second and third.

Nick Punto had two hits and knocked in the only run for the Twins, who lost for the sixth time in seven contests.

Carlos Silva (2-4) dropped his third straight start and continued to get little run support, as he was charged with seven hits and five runs through six innings. The Twins have been outscored 12-1 over his last three outings.

The game started 38 minutes late due to rain, but the Indians scored right away with a two-spot in the first. Sizemore singled and Blake doubled him home. Blake went to third on the throw home and scored on a groundout by Hafner.

Punto singled in Jeff Cirillo in the second, but the Indians manufactured a run in the third for a 3-1 lead. Sizemore walked, stole second and went to third on a wild pitch before scoring on a Hafner sacrifice fly.

Cleveland loaded the bases in the fifth before Nixon slapped a two-run single to center. The Indians filled the bases again in the seventh before Nixon lofted a sacrifice fly, and David Dellucci singled in Victor Martinez later in the inning to account for the final margin.

MySportsbook.com refunds all bets on Oakland, Green Bay and Tampa Bay from NFL week one.

(September 14) – Week one of NFL action saw three teams go scoreless for the first time since 1977.  Another four were unable to get a touchdown and almost half of the underdogs covered the spread. Those three teams saved bettors at MySportsbook.com from losing out completely, thanks to the company’s unique NFL Shutout Rule -- which ensures that if the team you backed goes scoreless, your wager is refunded.

Sportsbook refunded tens of thousands of dollars to customers who bet on Oakland, Green Bay and Tampa Bay, the three teams that stunk up the field so badly that their fans and backers never had a chance to get up from their couches and cheer.  In the spirit of the low scoring start to the season, odds makers at the world’s largest online sportsbook and casino have set odds on how many total shutouts there will be this season.

MySportsbook.com has posted updated sports betting lines for week two of the season.  Ben Roethlisberger’s health status is still questionable, so Willie Parker will try to lead Pittsburgh again as they travel to Jacksonville as a one point favorite.  After beating up on his little brother last week, Peyton Manning will look to lead the Colts to victory against Houston. Indianapolis is a whopping 13.5 favorite in the match-up.

Seattle, last year’s highest scoring team, showed the power of their defense with their gritty 9-6 win in Motown over the ravenous Lions.  They take their act back home to the comforts of Qwest Field where they will face the resurgent Arizona Cardinals.  The Seahawks are favored by a touchdown.
