05/17/2007 - San Diego, CA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Kevin Kouzmanoff drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the ninth inning to send San Diego to a 3-2 win over Cincinnati in the final contest of three at Petco Park.
With Bronson Arroyo still on the mound, the Padres put their first two men on base as Khalil Greene and Mike Cameron singled. Josh Bard reached and the bases were loaded as Ryan Freel dropped Arroyo's throw attempting to get a force at third. Kouzmanoff stepped up and was the beneficiary of a belt-high ball four call which brought Greene home with the winning run.
Trevor Hoffman (2-2) hurled a scoreless ninth to nab the victory. Starter Jake Peavy departed after seven innings, giving up two runs and nine hits, striking out five.
Kouzmanoff was 3-for-3 with two runs batted in for the Padres, winners in three of their last four games. Cameron had three hits and scored two runs, while Greene singled and scored.
Arroyo (2-4) took the loss despite a complete-game where he gave up 10 hits and three runs - one earned -, fanning six and walking two.
Brandon Phillips finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored for the Reds, who have lost five of six. Josh Hamilton, Scott Hatteberg and Alex Gonzalez had two hits each, and Freel singled and scored once.
The Reds jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first with Phillips' RBI double and Adam Dunn's run-scoring single.
San Diego cut the lead in half in the second on a Kouzmanoff single to plate Cameron, and were held at bay until the seventh, when Kouzmanoff's base hit to left was misplayed to the wall by Dunn, allowing Cameron to score from first and tie the game.
